Coastal Planning and Adaptation Conference

Friday March 19th, at the Centre for Life, Newcastle upon Tyne

Defra, CLG, GO-North East, GO-Yorkshire and The Humber and IMCORE would like to invite you to an event covering the latest developments on coastal change and related planning policies.  It will also provide you with an introduction to the work of the coastal change pathfinders from the north so that you can share in the practice and lessons that emerge from their work. • Find out the latest from Defra on coastal change policy and the new system for marine planning;
  
• Hear from CLG, who will introduce the new Development and Coastal Change Planning Policy, including an explanation of why we need it, what it does, how it works and how it relates to the policy on development and flood risk in PPS25;
  
• Hear from coastal change pathfinder authorities in Yorkshire and the North West on the innovative work they are doing in exploring new approaches to planning for, and managing, adaptation to coastal change in partnership with their communities;
  
• Find out about IMCORE an EU Interreg funded project exploring coastal community adaptation.
